Lift Yourself Up Leggings

When I’m working hard at the gym, the last thing I want to worry about is having see-through leggings. I had been searching for cute, opaque leggings for a while, but nothing seemed to fit the bill. The ones I tried were either too bulky, too thin, or cut too short.

Finally, I stumbled upon the Born Primitive brand. I found them through a Google search, but they also have a strong social media presence and brand reps on Instagram. I was surprised I hadn’t heard of them before.

I bought 2 pairs of the “Lift Yourself Up” leggings – one in black and the other in wine. I’ll admit, I was initially drawn to the “scrunch butt” stitching. I’ve seen people at the gym with figure-flattering leggings and I was eager to try a pair for myself.

After wearing them, I love these leggings for a few other reasons, too. They are cut high, which is great for a curvier figure. They stay put even though HIIT workouts, jumping jacks, or kettlebell swings. Basically, when you wear these leggings, the only thing you need to focus on is your workout – not if you’re going to have a wardrobe malfunction.

For reference, I have pretty muscular legs and I’m about 5’4. The mediums are a little tight, but I like them that way. If you’re a similar build and want a looser fit, you may want to try sizing up.

Another note is that they seem to shrink slightly in the dryer. I’ll probably line-dry these going forward to prevent further shrinking and wear-and-tear.

If you’re on the fence about ordering, they are 20% off today! Check out their website to see what sizes and colors are still available.

Also, I heard through their social media channels that they have a spring swimsuit line coming out soon. I’ll be sure to keep you posted with the deets on that!
